Sarah McKinley
Sarah graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2016 with a dual bachelor’s degree in Biology and Psychology, recently graduating with her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. After years of working in the Oil and Gas field, Sarah wanted more in her career and decided to further her education as a counselor to help others. Her passion is to help people discover the strength within themselves to cope with the chaos life can throw at them and live their best life. Through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Theory, and Feminist Theory, Sarah strives to help clients heal from their past, focus on the here and now, and empower them to be authentic.
Sarah completed her internship, gaining experience with children, adolescents, teenagers, and adults in office and school settings. She also has experience working at an inpatient addiction treatment center, halfway house, and as a crisis intervention specialist. Sarah is working towards obtaining her hours to become a Licensed Professional Counselor, with hopes of becoming certified in Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
