Maia Hawk
Maia graduated from Washington & Jefferson College in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and recently graduated from Waynesburg University with her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Maia has her National Counselor Certification (NCC) and is working towards her hours as a Licensed Professional Counselor with hopes of becoming certified as a clinical trauma professional (CCTP).
In Maia’s counseling practice, she emphasizes a person-centered approach, as she places a large emphasis on the client being an active participant in their healing journey. She see’s counseling as a journey between herself and the client, where they work together to build a trusting professional relationship. Her goal as a counselor is to be accepting and supportive, working collaboratively with clients to find balance, emotional-wellbeing, and self fulfillment in their lives.
While she is comfortable working with individuals of all ages, she has a particular strength in working with children and adolescents. Maia’s experience includes working with school aged youth on behavioral concerns, anxiety, grief and loss, relationships, trauma, and emotional regulation. Maia also has experience working with adults in both group and individual settings.
