    Christina Handley LPC

    Christina Handley is a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor who is devoted to helping others. Christina earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania then continued her education at Duquesne University receiving her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.  Pursuing her counseling career, she has 20 years of clinical experience and has worked in the private practice setting for over 10 years. In addition, she is comfortable performing individual therapy sessions with adults and adolescents from all backgrounds. She has considerable experience with issues of anxiety, depression, addiction, abuse, trauma, relationship issues, and adjustment disorders. Christina is a dedicated, compassionate counselor with extensive knowledge of offering advice, support, encouragement, rehabilitation, skill building, and guidance to clients. She has a proven ability to empathize with individuals while retaining an objective and realistic approach to their treatment and therapy. Christina’s theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as she agrees that positive, healthy behaviors originate from positive, healthy thoughts. She employs a client-centered style of counseling focused on the holistic process of uniting mind, body, and spirit and believes in the power of positive energy.

     Being a proud native to the Western Pennsylvania area, Christina values family, friends, and nature. She is an active outdoors enthusiast, enjoying hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, and traveling. Christina is committed to not only helping people but also the environment. She is a board member of Glade Run Lake Conservancy, a local nonprofit organization devoted to the preservation and protection of Glade Run Lake and its watershed.

     Broadening her professional focus, Christina is now providing supervision services as well as counseling services for new graduates and/or individuals pursuing their counseling licenses. Her structured approach will enable supervisees to become successful confident counselors.
